It has been quiet. Too quiet for Kragen's liking. There has been no new orders from Imai or Logan since they liberated Sector Four. They said no news was good news, but Kragen couldn't shake the feeling that something big was about to come over the horizon.
Kragen was at the main military base that the Resistance took over from the Crimson Vulture. Checking the weapons of the rebel army to the best of his ability. He had seen war like no one else in his field. He knew the dangers of leaving your weapons unchecked. Everything had to be processed cleanly. Kragen's attention soon went off the weapons and onto the alien that was now approaching him.
"What is it?"

Garrus was more than content with the fact that they have been able to free an entire sector. One less sector out of the Vulture control was a good thing in Garrus's mind, but he couldn't shake the feeling that the army brass was holding out on them. He would've thought once they had secured a sector there would be more orders flowing in to protect it. Or at least something. For right now there has only been radio silence. Garrus caught Kragen over by the weapons like he was expecting something. Garrus had been working on the tanks to make them more advance and able to fight off Isafaro's tanks. He decided to give his friend and comrade a little visit as Kragen was quick to greet him with a question. Garrus Vakarian "Have you heard anything from the higher ups?"

"Nothing."
Kragen was of the same opinion as Garrus. After taking a sector they should be doing a great deal more to keep it. But nothing. It made Kragen want to storm Imai's office and demand an answer, but he respected the woman too much to disrespect her command like that. Same with Logan. Both Imai and Logan were a big part of their success.
"I'm sure something's coming. I can feel it."

Garrus Vakarian "I feel it too. As far as I'm concerned it's only a matter of time before some major orders start pouring in. I'm sure Imai and Logan are just working on managing the sector right now." That had to be it. Imai and Logan wouldn't keep them in the dark like this except for good reason. They had to keep Isafaro military out of the liberated sector. Finally, people were free to do what they wish. Even though the sector was a little torn and worn it was still free and that was all they could ask for.

"Then we wait."
Kragen trusted few people in his life. He found that trust was hard to earn and come by, but he trusted the following people: Imai, Logan, Armando, Made, and Garrus. Five people. Five fingers. And he wasn't afraid to cut off fingers.
"How's your ship?"

Garrus Vakarian "Repairs are going well, but I still have some parts I need to find. Perhaps you'd like to accompany me on a scavenger hunt in town. I'm sure this sector is bound to have a few untapped technology potential now that the Vulture is out of the picture." It was the only hope he had to find something that would work with his ship. Though he had no intention on leaving Jenesis until Isafaro had been liberated, as per their agreement, he still wanted a working ship for other things. Such as weapons and equipment.

Kragen checked the last of the firearms at the base and then rechecked his own weapons and equipment before fully turning to face his comrade and friend Garrus Vakarian.
"Lead the way."
Kragen was more than happy to accompany Garrus in town to help rebuild his ship. They have become good combat buddies in the war against the Crimson Vulture and Garrus was one of the few men that Kragen respected and trusted. And when it came to Kragen that was no easy task for anyone to accomplish.

Garrus Vakarian "Let's go." Garrus led Kragen out of the military base and out onto the streets of Sector Four. People were walking back and forth to their jobs. Kids were playing in the streets. Woman were alone and free from fear and harassment. It was a great sight to see. Especially in a place as oppressive as Isafaro has been. Garrus Vakarian "Look at that, Kragen. Kids playing in the streets in Isafaro. Did you ever think you'd see the day?"

"No..."
Kragen always dreamt of the day when kids could play in the streets of Isafaro without fear of the Vulture lurking over their shoulder. Seeing it for the first time in years pleased the Ex-Soldier more than anyone could know. Given the fact that nobody could see his face behind the gas mask, or his expressions. It warmed the old man's heart.
"Did you?"

Garrus Vakarian "I always held onto the hope." It reinforced Garrus's belief that he was on the side of good to see these children playing freely within the now liberated sector. Which the Vulture now called "The renegade sector." They could call it whatever they wanted to spread their propaganda against them. This sector was now free. Free of Isafaro military. Free of their AI. Free of the good General. Garrus Vakarian "We should keep moving."

Kragen agreed and went further north alongside Garrus. As they traveled north he saw a large crowd gather around a single man who was giving a speech:
"The Resistance are not interested in freedom! They're interested in power! The Vulture took care of us. Who will take us care of us now? Imai? Logan? This is a renegade sector now! We must return to the Vulture before we're all branded traitors!"
As Kragen heard this he looked back over to Garrus.
"Do you hear this guy?"

Garrus heard what the man had to say and thought he was full of shit. The Resistance had no interest in gaining power. Only stopping a corrupt form of government from spreading its wings. If this person thought he was honestly in better hands with the Vulture then he was free to leave the sector at any time. That said, Garrus wouldn't try to silent him. Freedom was a two way street. Garrus Vakarian "Let's not concern ourselves with the likes of him. If we're to truly support freedom then we need to leave people like this alone. No matter how much we may disagree. That's the whole point of democracy."

"You get it."
A mature and reasonable response from Garrus. One of the many reasons the Ex-Soldier found him so endearing. Kragen continued to walk down the streets until he saw an abandoned warehouse further north from where they were walking.
"Over there."
Kragen figured that a warehouse could have some goods that Garrus could use for his ship and knew he need not say more as he began to head for the warehouse.

Garrus looked over yonder to see the abandoned warehouse that Kragen was motioning to. Garrus Vakarian "Good eye, Kragen. Maybe something in there can help me. Let's go and find out." Garrus caught up to Kragen and began to lead the way. He came up to the entrance of the warehouse and opened it. Upon entry he saw that it was still operational and that crates were being moved up and down the building. Garrus Vakarian "Kragen, keep your guard up. These machines shouldn't be moving."

Neither Kragen nor Garrus would have to wait long to find the answer as to why the warehouse was running. Four Vulture troops came out of the woodwork and declared, "VULTURE TAKE FLIGHT!" They were remnants from the group they eliminated upon taking the sector.
Kragen quickly got behind cover and waited for the shots to die down before popping out and firing back with his HK pistol and then sitting back down behind cover again.
"These guys mean business."
