Hello and welcome to "Jenesis" forum. Thank you for considering us for your role-playing needs. Below is a list of rules that everyone agree to follow upon joining the forum, so read them carefully. Rules are subject to change at any time without warning, so check back frequently.
1.) Respect!
I don't expect everybody to get along, but I do expect for people to respect the forum and keep personal disputes private. If for some reason you cannot settle a matter with another member then contact a member of staff and we'll do our best to settle the situation.
2.) No Spamming!
Spamming is where you post one liners, one word responses, or spam your site link all over the board. Don't do it! While we don't have an official word count please give your role playing partner something to work with. You may also advertise your site in your profile and sig, but nowhere else.
3.) No Hotlinking!
Please do not take an image from a random site and use their URL to host it. Please use a free hosting service to host all images. You can also upload images directly into your profile for avatars.
4.) No Godmodding!
Do not create an all powerful character who has no weaknesses or flaws. Even if there's not a section for them in your profile template, please remember them when creating your character.
5.) No Powerplaying!
Powerplaying is where you perform a hit, say it hits, and how much damage it does. Don't do it! Please give your opponent a chance to dodge/counter/block the in-coming attack if they can. Alternatively, don't dodge everything as that can be seen as another form of godmodding.
6.) No Meta-Gaming
Meta-Gaming is where you take information you received OOC (Out of character) and used for IC means (In character). Don't do it! You must explain all information your character knows through IC means.
7.) No Killing!
Do not kill another person's character without their expressed consent. Characters who are dead may be risen again at a later day, however if you're playing a pre-existing character and kill them off that pre-existing character becomes open again and someone else may bring in a different version of the character, so be careful.
8.) Display Names!
When registering for the forum you may use whatever username you wish, but when it comes to your Display Name please use your character's first and last name. If they don't have a surname then don't worry about it. But at least use their first civilian name.
9.) Variants!
Since there is such a thing as a multiverse there are other versions of certain characters. To keep thing clean if someone has a pre-existing and you want to play that pre-existing simply get their permission to create a variant before making an application. If the staff declare that you can make another version of that character then you do not have to get the player's consent.
10.) Original & Pre-Existing Characters!
Yes, you may play an original character or a pre-existing one. When apping pre-existing characters please use your own words and not the words of the Wiki. There is no limit to how many characters you can have, OC or pre-existing, but we do ask that you do not go beyond your limits.
Thank you for reading these simple rules. Hopefully everyone can abide by these rules and I won't have to add more. The most important thing on "Jenesis" is to have fun.
